Another mini Jof!

Today was a very special day! We got to see our baby boy #2 in HD 4D Live! We went to the same facility, Infant See HD in Fairfax, where we saw our baby Alex seven years ago! Yes! It’s been that long but it feels like it was just yesterday! Oh and we saw Maria again – the very sweet owner and the same lady who helped us with Alex the first time around. How time flies! Anyway, our baby boy was asleep the whole 15 or so minutes because he was up all night! That’s right, he kept  mommy up the whole night until 5 am stretching, kicking and doing everything a little baby does in his mommy’s belly. [smile]          Another reason why today is extra special is because we are revealing his name to everyone! Just like Alex, he will have 2 names, too! His first name is from the animated movie Guardians of Ga’Hoole, it is also a form of ‘Thor’ – Riza’s favorite Marvel superhero, ‘Thorin’ from The Hobbit – one of our favorite books and movies, and ‘Thoren’ – an old character from GOT which I love to watch!  His second name is part of the French philosopher’s full name where my name ‘Jouffroy’ was taken from . Can you make a guess before scrolling down?          Now that you know his cool name (well, Riza and I think it’s pretty cool!), he won’t get away without a nickname! We will call him Theo.          Our two boys will now be called...

We’re having a….

Last week, we had our 20th week pregnancy checkup. Riza, Alex and I were very excited. We got to see our little baby’s features: hands, cheeks, feet, heart and so on… And guess what? We got to know the gender of our little peanut!          Ok, Alex and I were playing Debbie-downers, we didn’t want to know the gender right then and there. We wanted to have a gender reveal! So yes, we skipped that part. We literally covered our eyes not to see it. My wife was the only one who saw the gender! She said: I will surprise you boys this weekend! Alex and I agreed.          Oh well, later that night, my wife couldn’t sleep. She couldn’t keep the secret any longer. She woke me up at 4am and told me she wanted to make our “true” gender reveal more intimate. I was half asleep but I agreed just so she would let me go back to sleep. When Alex and I woke up at 6am, she told us to stay in bed and keep our eyes shut. She went out our bedroom and brought something back. Tucked herself back in bed and when she was ready, she asked us to pull the blanket down. And there it was, a baby blue bunny on her belly! We were very surprised and extremely happy! We are having another baby boy! Alex was “super happy!” He said out loud, “I was right! Everyone was wrong! I knew I’ll have a baby brother!” With the biggest smile ever! It...

LUCKY 7!

I will never forget the day when my wife and I said “I DO” to each other. Other than the fact that you just can’t forget your wedding anniversary, nature gives me a very beautiful reminder every year this time around: cherry blossoms that are in full bloom in front of my in-law’s home! These were the same trees we picked petals from and used for our wedding! Let’s talk about money saving! [smile]          Every year we try to do different things to celebrate our anniversary, but this year, it’s a bit different because my wife is pregnant! We just wanted to relax and spend time with each other. Want to know what we did? Oh well, we ate lunch at my in-laws and then left our son, Alex, with Ma and Pa so we can go watch “The Fate of the Furious.” That movie was pretty cool, by the way! After the movie, we went back to pick up our son and noticed that Pa prepared dinner so we ate there again. That’s it! No fancy schmancy dinner because it just didn’t feel like that kind of night tonight.          Tonight, as I’m typing this, my wife is waiting for Alex to finish his shower and then it’ll be reading time before bedtime. It’s that kind of night. Family night. And that’s what it really is all about for me.   Venue | GAYLORD NATIONAL HARBOR HOTEL Cheers! We are pregnant!

Surprise!!! We are very excited to announce that we have baby #2 on the way! We.Are.Pregnant!!! We just passed our first trimester and my wife, Riza, is now showing, so the secret is out!          For the past 3 years, our friends and family have been asking us when we will have another baby. Even our son, Alex, has been asking us for a baby brother or a sister! When he found out that we are pregnant, his counting began! He counts daily and weekly! He would say, 4 more days, our baby will be 13 weeks old! Yep! He’s that serious! He is very excited to become a big brother or a “kuya” in Filipino! We actually started calling him just that. [smile]          I am so excited to have an addition to our little family and I can’t wait to meet our little one! We may have a gender reveal on 20 weeks, but we’ll see! I really want to keep the gender until the baby comes out, but who knows, my wife keeps reminding me that we should know the gender sooner! [smile] Venue | MORVEN PARK – LEESBURG, VA Cheers!
